Always Improving to Better Help Our Families
A child’s ability to trust is paramount to development and many in foster care are lacking it. But now a new strategy called Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TRBI) can change a child’s life – and help rewire their brain’s connections! And Spaulding professionals are embracing this to help our families.
Our Child Family Services staff have been receiving training on TBRI for the past few years. This year we invited a couple foster parents to our 2-day training in June. And then we held a one-hour overview on TBRI at the Parent Empowerment Group (PEG). You can learn more about PEG below.
Trained TBRI Practitioners must administer TBRI training. Among the trained practitioners on staff are Katie Ward, Kristina Vaseau, Tia Borrego, Stacey Oakes, and Anna Brown.
While TBRI is newer for our parents, it has been around for many years. At Spaulding we are working to implement some practices around the offices and to help encourage families to bring those ideas into their homes.
Here is a short video that explains how TBRI works. To reserve a spot at Spaulding’s 2-day training, please contact our office at (248) 443-0300.
