Spaulding has been participating in quarterly meetings with approximately 20 other agencies to identify challenges and resources to help support youth in care who identify as LGBTQ+. Positive environments are important to help all youth thrive. However, the health needs of LGBTQ+ Youth can differ from their heterosexual peers. There are many resources from the CDC, other government agencies, and community organizations for LGBTQ+ Youth, their friends, educators, parents, and family members to develop, strengthen and support positive environments.
