In October 2017, Spaulding for Children, in partnership with Harmony Family Center and Public Research and Evaluation Services (PRES) was awarded an 18 month grant from the Children’s Bureau, Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The purpose of the H-BASS grant is to improve hospital-based adoption support services for pregnant and expectant mothers through training and technical assistance. The target population for training will be hospital-based adoption support service providers, doctors, and staff who provide pregnancy or adoption information and referrals.
Hospital staff often serve as the first and only opportunity for expectant mothers to receive family planning information, making it critical for medical professionals to be aware of adoption information and agencies in their area so they can refer parents interested in learning more about adoption.
