Meet One of Spaulding’s Newest Board Members Kevin Edwards
One of our newest Board Members is Kevin Edwards, a Data Analytics Manager with Masco Corporation. Among his responsibilities, he helps develop technology platforms and capabilities to drive data analytics maturity. Kevin and his team provide data analytics assistance across the organization, including facilitating an enterprise-wide data analytics community to ensure the sharing of best practices and strategies.
Kevin Edwards has always “loved data.” As an electrical and computer engineering major at University of Michigan-Dearborn, he took a programming class senior year which led him to switch his major to computer science.Masco is a major sponsor who has supported the families Spaulding serves since 2017.The new major led Kevin to land an internship at Masco, which changed his entire career path. As an intern, Kevin saw how data analysis helped Masco maintain its position as a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of branded home improvement and building products. Kevin said he also learned there is much more to the corporation. “Masco has a wonderful culture and great people,” Mr. Edwards said. “Additionally, the company is rooted in a philanthropic spirit. I am happy to have found a career with a company that believes in serving the community. I was raised to look out for others and help where I can.” Mr. Edwards was recruited to join the Spaulding Board by Spaulding’s Board Chair Kristi Plain, Vice President, Global Talent & Sales Support for Brasscraft Manufacturing – A Masco Company. “Spaulding is a perfect fit for me and my desire to help the most vulnerable in the community – children and families,” Mr. Edwards said. “As an African American male, the mission of the organization spoke to me. Spaulding was started to help those children and youth who might not be the first to be adopted.” Kevin is passionate about identifying opportunities to give back. Coaching youth sports, tutoring young scholars, and mentoring people in career and life skills are some of the ways he gives back in addition to working with Spaulding.
