Building a Better Future for Children and Families
What’s It Like to Work at Spaulding for Children?
Every member of our team believes that the work we do is important. And everyone at Spaulding also knows the work can be challenging. Spaulding currently has 48 staff members and, in an industry with very high turnover, we are especially proud of our 80% retention rate.
So how do we do retain our talented team?
- We provide continued training and support.
- We strive to hire a diverse group of people with different backgrounds.
- We promote from within; 69% of our current management staff are the result of internal promotions.
- We constantly celebrate our team. We hosted 39 events for and with staff last year.
An example of the never-ending education for our staff was a program at a recent all-staff meeting where we learned about how play can help kids with brain functioning. Play also helps develop a child’s sense of independence. Through play and collaboration, and a donation from Lego, Spaulding staff created and described what our child welfare system could look like.
Our team members tell us why they value being part of Spaulding:
“I stay at Spaulding because the agency values employees as much as they value families and community.”
“I have remained a Spaulding for Children employee because of their support and value of employees and commitment to bettering the lives of the children and families we serve.”
