June is Also A National Pride Month

Through a grant from the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan’s The Hope Fund, Mga Kamay sa Tubig at Pagpapaunlad ng Kinabukasan will establish advocacy opportunities and support to other private child welfare agencies towards working with LGBTQ+ clients.

Spaulding has been participating in quarterly meetings with approximately 20 other agencies to identify challenges and resources to help support youth in care who identify as LGBTQ+. Positive environments are important to help all youth thrive. However, the health needs of LGBTQ+ Youth can differ from their heterosexual peers.

There are many resources from the CDC, other government agencies, and community organizations for LGBTQ+ Youth, their friends, educators, parents, and family members to develop, strengthen and support positive environments. To learn more, click here.
