The National Association of State Adoption Programs, Inc. (NASAP) is a professional peer organization that was formed in 1998, with the knowledge of and encouragement from the Children’s Bureau. NASAP’s mission is to provide a forum in which State Adoption Program Managers can pool their expertise and to promote networking activities as an association with other direct child welfare entities and individual professionals so that each state can develop and maintain an efficient, state-of-the-art adoption program.

NASAP Membership

NASAP charges no membership dues. Membership is automatic for all who are identified by their respective States as the statewide adoption manager, adoption specialist, or state equivalent. Active participation is strongly encouraged. Click here to download the NASAP Contact List.

NASAP Executive Committee

The Association is guided by an Executive Committee (EC), which is elected during the Annual Working Meeting. EC members include a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and four Members-at-Large. EC members serve two-year terms, with half of the committee elected each year. The EC holds monthly conference calls to plan activities, events and Forums for the Association. The Association is incorporated in Utah as a non-profit entity. Utah was selected only because one of the founding members resided there. The Association’s By-laws are available to be shared. Click here to download the NASAP By-Laws.
