Overview

This resource summarizes key lessons learned from the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska’s implementation of Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) as part of the Quality Improvement Center for Adoption and Guardianship Support and Preservation (QIC‑AG). It documents how the Tribe adapted FGDM to align with Ho‑Chunk cultural values, language, and practices—called Wažokį Wošgą Gicą Wo’ųpį —to support family‑led, culturally grounded permanency planning for youth ages 12–19 who cannot be reunified with their biological parents.
