Time to think Summer

Summer is just around the corner. And there are lots of great things to do in Michigan’s great outdoors. Please click on the highlighted text for details from the organizations online.

Detroit PAL presents Sports Programs and Youth Enrichment Programs for kids of all ages. Formerly the “Detroit Police Athletic League,” the outstanding programs help children enjoy the great outdoors and develop their interior worlds, as well.

Summer Discovery programs are for students who will finish grades K-8 in spring 2024 (Rising 1st – Rising 9th graders) and who attend school in Wayne, Macomb, or Oakland counties can enroll in a Summer Discovery program.

DAPCEP (Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program) offers STEM programs for students entering in the fall grades K- 11. From renewable energy to exploring Mars robotically, DAPCET, a 40 year-old not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to helping youngsters explore and excel in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Detroit Parks host special programs and activities every day of this summer. Details are in a PDF file format.

There are 13 Huron Clinton Metroparks. Each presents Michigan’s great outdoors, plus activities, summer camps and plenty of great spaces and nature to enjoy.
